This season is off to a slow start due to the warm temperatures during the first part of December. Currently, the area has a snow depth of 4 to 6 inches and the temperatures have been 32°F or lower for several weeks making for thicker ice on local lakes.
Earlier this week, the groomers were out packing the trails. The trails now have a good base on them, but need more snow. One of the club members checked out some of the trails that were groomed earlier in the week. The trails were groomed nicely and fun to ride. Trail 22 (Alligator Alley) is not open yet due to three large trees across the trail in the swamp area blocking passage. The club will remove these trees next week once the cold snap freezes the swamp area sufficiently to support vehicles. Think snow and drive safely!!
