This picture says it all...great snow and great trails! The Park Rapids area has lots of snow! After receiving another couple of inches of snow last night, we have snow accumulation totals of 16 inches or more!
Some map info to pass along to you:
Mother Nature is giving the Park Rapids area a late Christmas present! Currently, we have 9+ inches of snow and it is still snowing! Forecasters are saying another 6 inches before the weather system moves out of the area.
Groomers will be out getting the trails ready for a fabulous snowmobiling experience! Ice conditions on the lakes are great with depths of 13 inches or more! Remember to stay on the trails!
Come to the wonderful Northland and enjoy the trails!
Last weekend, snowmobilers were out enjoying the 8 to 12 inches of new snow the area received on Monday, March 5! A huge thank you to our dedicated groomers who do a great job making our trail system outstanding!
Groomers are out this week doing spot grooming in Itasca State Park, Trails #11, #18, #21, #22, the Scout Trail, and trails from Lake George to Emmaville.
PLEASE NOTE: Trail #32 from Holiday Corner (located at the intersection of trails #31 and #32 on the Pine Forest Road) going west for about a mile has been plowed to the gravel for logging purposes. Snowmobilers are driving on the plowed sides of the trail. After this part of the trail, the Pine Forest Road, Coon Lake, and Spider Lake trails going to Itasca State Park are great riding.
Snow, snow, and more snow! The Park Rapids-Two Inlets-Itasca State Park area has received 10-12 inches of snow since Sunday, February 18! The groomers hit the trails yesterday and are having fun making the trails great for your riding this weekend. We finally have great snow and the temperatures will be perfect for hitting the trails. Please note, the Hubbard County Sheriff's office has issued a winter weather advisory from 3pm Thursday until 6am Friday. More snow in the forecast. Travel safe...
The area received 3 inches of snow last Saturday so the groomers are out this week getting the trails ready. It should be a good week to ride the trails and temperatures look great for the weekend!
Groomers did not go out this week, but riding has not changed seeing the weather has been colder. Forest trails are still good. The club ride for Hospice last weekend started in Two Inlets heading north to Spike's, Backwoods Bar & Grill, Laporte, and Walker and returned on the Heartland Trail. County Highway 4 was icy and Trail #32 (Coon Lake Trail) was icy due to logging. Beside these two areas, it was a great ride. Ride safe!
Akeley Cenex, Becida Bar & Grill, Casey's General Store, Clancy's at Vacationaire, Elbow Lake Store, Emmaville Inn, Huntersville Outpost, Ice Cracking Lodge, Northern Convenience, Northwoods Grocery & Cafe, OBT (Osage Bait & Tackle), Pinehurst Resort, Rock Creek General Store, Shell Sport & Bait, T&M Express, Two Inlets Country Store, and Woodland Store. Please note, gas is no longer available at Itasca Junction (closed) and Spike's.
Groomers will be out on the trails again tomorrow through the week. Cold temps have maintained the initial snow received in December. During this past week, the area has received another 6+ inches of snow, and it is still snowing…woo-hoo! Riders are reporting great snowmobiling! Be safe, have fun!
Groomer headed out on New Year’s Day and will be going all week. Trails are grooming up nicely where snowmobiles have packed down the snow. Itasca State Park trails are groomed and all Forest Riders Trails should be completed by Friday. Happy Riding!
The snowmobiling season for 2017 is starting out great! Since the first of December, we have received multiple days of snowfall, and it is snowing as I post this update! The groomers have been out each week making the trails great! Cold temperatures are thickening the ice on lakes and swamps, but please be careful.
Come enjoy our fantastic trail system and support the local businesses in our area!
